Title: Kissed by God, Killed by Death Date: 2008 Material: Mirror, plastic, black wig, clothes, earth, trees, light Photo by: Andreas Lang Info: Based upon a performance done in the Bavarian Forest days before the exhibition, the installation shows a stuffed figure (my alter ego) laying on a life sized mirror set atop a sloping pile of earth on the floor. Pine trees are placed, as if they have started to grow, at the figure's feet. A spotlight shines from an angle onto the mirror, casting a shadow on the wall of the figure so that he appears to be standing like a giant in a forest. A large scale photographic still from the performance hangs on the wall opposite the shadow. |
